Repertoire

The construction of the repertoire of the choir answers to a wide-ranging plan: to face, according to the appropriate executive techniques , the various musical genres; however, conscious that the essence of a musical work is in its execution which must focus more on the expressive interpretation than the pure execution.
The repertoire includes songs of the Gregorian chant, the wonderful musical treasure of the West, from which arise all other forms of singing.
The repertoire loves the Praises ( “le Laudi”) , the source of all the Italian ” bel canto” and the theater and does not omit sequences, troubadour songs, the chansons, the “ frottole”, the villanelle ...
It faces with particular attention the polyphony of the golden age, a conversation of many voices, not easy to approach with rhythmic and tonal voice, a game of equilibrium between shadows and lights in which underline the verb-melodic phrase, devoid of special effects insertion, with a limpid, clear and sweet voice.
It still adheres to the dramatic and expressive request of baroque music with his taste for grandeur, for magniloquence, whose dynamic variation in adherence to the text, trying to interpret all the colors of the sonorous prism.

From the repertoire of the choir, full of about 180 titles, we take out five songs for each of the different musical genres.
